You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands. Cama Beach State Park

    Choose a hull and sail, drill a step for a mast, and build your very own toy boat! Younger children may need help using our hand drills and hammers, but everyone will have a great time decorating their boat with bottle caps, corks, and crayons.

Deception Pass State Park

  1. Beyond the Bridge interpretive program

    June 29, 2019, 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Deception Pass State Park

    Park staff present a 30-minute interpretive program about the Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges. Beyond a discussion of the bridges’ architecture and history, visitors will discover the cultural significance of these iconic spans and their connection to the park’s natural resources. People of all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  2. Guided hikes

    June 29, 2019, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Deception Pass State Park

    Park staff will lead a family-friendly, hour-long, .9-mile hike along the North Beach Trail, during which hikers will learn about the Deception Pass forests. This one-way hike leaves from the West Beach Amphitheater and ends at the North Beach parking lot. Visitors may leave a car to shuttle or hike round trip. People of all ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  3. Discovery Center hands-on activities

    The Discovery Center offers hands-on activities. Located in a historic Civilian Conservation Corps bathhouse at Rosario Beach, the center plays host to tidepool specimens, microscopes and more. The Discovery Center is sponsored by the Deception Pass Park Foundation.

  1. Junior Ranger evening program

    This family-friendly evening program is geared toward children of all ages. Park staff will provide educational lessons on a variety of topics, including the natural environment and local wildlife, nocturnal animals, sensory exploration, geology and hiker preparedness. Each program will include an interactive craft or activity and lasts approximately one hour. Meet at the amphitheater beside the CCC kitchen shelter/across from swings. Signs will be posted. ** Programs are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather, staffing availability and attendance levels. **

Peace Arch State Park

  1. Puppy Rescue Mission Festival

    June 29, 2019, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Peace Arch State Park

    Bow Wow & Woofs presents the Fourth Annual Puppy Rescue Mission Festival!

    There will be plenty of vendors handing out samples of dog products with experts you can talk with. The event will have a beer garden sponsored by Boundary Bay Brewery for people 21 years of age and older, as well as different food options to choose from.

    Don't forget to register your pup for the "Paws Across the Border" walk through the historic Peace Arch! You can also get you pup's caricature drawn and have them blessed during the Blessing of the Animals.

    There will be a live and silent auction taking place during the event with items for both dogs and humans!

    Birch Bay pet supply store Bow Wow & Woofs is hosting the event to support Puppy Rescue Mission, a national organization which focuses on bringing home both military and stray dogs that soldiers bond with on assignment, especially in war zones.
