  2. Introduction to Furniture: Design and Technique

    January 6, 2020 - March 27, 2020

This class is open to woodworkers who would like to broaden their approach to furniture making. We think it means you are a person who has decided to commit to learning furniture making; is yearning to develop a finer sense of design; has already acquired some woodworking skills and has a strong sense of the limitations of your own knowledge and skills. You must have some experience in hand tool woodworking, finer machine work and basic design before taking this class. If you have limited woodworking experience - we’d like you to produce evidence of strong practical skills, problem solving ability, and experience with hand work.

  3. The Transferred Image with Katey Rissi

    February 16, 2020, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

In this class, you will work with various image transfer techniques to create dynamic prints that lie between printmaking and photography. Students will learn how to make gel medium transfers, xerox transfers, tape transfers, transparency transfers, and more. We will explore the ways this medium can be used in conjunction with other media, as well as the ways it is able to break away from the 2D nature of print work. These image making methods are fun and simple to learn and really lend themselves to experimentation. If you have a printmaking, collage, or mixed media artmaking practice, this class is a great way to add more tools to your toolbox.
