    January 6, 2020 - March 27, 2020

This course drills deep into the basics, beginning with a firm foundation in understanding wood as a material and incorporates introductory training in a wide range of techniques. The curriculum focuses on imparting skills through a series of projects designed to build on one another in techniques and complexity. After twelve weeks, you'll leave with an in-depth experience of hand tools; having practiced applications of joinery methods, considered choices for wood selection and worked with non-toxic materials. And you’ll understand practical planning for designing and executing woodworking projects.

  2. Introduction to Furniture: Design and Technique

    January 6, 2020 - March 27, 2020

This class is open to woodworkers who would like to broaden their approach to furniture making. We think it means you are a person who has decided to commit to learning furniture making; is yearning to develop a finer sense of design; has already acquired some woodworking skills and has a strong sense of the limitations of your own knowledge and skills. You must have some experience in hand tool woodworking, finer machine work and basic design before taking this class. If you have limited woodworking experience - we’d like you to produce evidence of strong practical skills, problem solving ability, and experience with hand work.

  3. Complementary Colors for Pastel Artists with Chris Witkowski

    February 12, 2020, 9:00 AM - February 14, 2020, 4:00 PM

Every pair of complementary colors has a warm and a cool shade. We will take a pair of complementary colors each day and learn to work with them by first making color swatches of the complementary colors you have in your kit. You’ll learn to mix and layer them, first with full strength color, then softly tonal, warm against cool, in a series of experiments where you end up achieving beautiful modulations of color.
