Orienteering race: Participants compete on course and use a map to find checkpoints placed throughout the park. The goal is to find checkpoints in the correct order as quickly as possible.

All participants need to stay on trail and yield to equestrians appropriately. Equestrians need to keep an eye open for participants focused on maps.

WinterFest 2019 event: Search for unique hand-blown glass treasures by world-renowned glass artists, Mark and Marcus Ellinger. One clue ball per day at Cama Beach State Park will be hidden. Come to the Welcome Center to view the balls and learn about Cama Beach!

From the forest to the shore, you'll find lot's to explore at Cama Beach. The guided hikes are led by knowledgeable state park staff and volunteers. Furthermore, exercise and outdoor activities rejuvenate the mind and body, promoting overall mental and physical health and wellness. Many believe that time spent in nature enhances creativity and lifts our moods!

WinterFest 2019 event: Sketching and creativity. Connect to place and picture what you want to draw or simply see. Materials are provided. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

WinterFest 2019 event: What's a crankie? Crankie is an old storytelling art form. It's a long illustrated scroll that is wound onto two spools. The spools are loaded into a box which has a viewing screen. The scroll is hand-cranked while the story is told, a song is sung or a tune is played. Build your own with the help of Sue Truman.

WinterFest 2019 evetn: Transform your child's face into a tiger or fairy with a face painter. At the same time make small bubble wrap candles to create snazzy cake toppers, or roll larger, scented ones to have great pillar candles that'll be sure to brighten up any room. You can find us at the historic store at the north end of the beach.

WinterFest 2019 event: New and gently used quilts that are discounted during Winterfest only. Sale will be held in the historic home next to the historic store.

WinterFest 2019 event: We provide the materials, you provide the creativity! You can be the captain of your own ship! Meet at the Center for Wooden Boats.

WinterFest 2019 event: Explore and discover how truly cool dry ice can be! Literally cool, as in -109.3 degrees Fahrenheit cool! For ages 6 and up. Held in the Forest Room attached to the Cama Center.

Santa and Sparky the fire dog will be arriving in a decorated fire truck with lights and music. Bring a donation of food or a toy to help those in need during the holiday season (checks and cash gladly accepted too). Food and toys will also be accepted during and after the event at the Welcome Center and the historical store.

The event will be held at the center lawn area on the beach with a solstice fire and s'mores (weather permitting).

Break out the overalls and start the holiday season with the most popular hoedown in the Stanwood Camano area. Camano’s celebrated South End String Band returns to Cama Beach for a one-night performance.

Celebrate the first day of winter at Fields Spring State Park and meet some of the creature characters in our winter wonderland. We will play games outside then take a short walk to Wohelo Lodge. While there, kids can earn their Junior Ranger badges and will get a hands-on introduction to local animals and their tracks. Please dress warmly for the winter weather and call the park office if you have any questions.

Hikes will be about 3 miles on moderate terrain and last approximately 2.5 hours. All ages and ability levels are welcome. Guides will share tidbits on natural history, snowshoeing basics and safety information during the hikes. Bring snowshoes, poles, layered clothing, boots and water.

For more information about the snowshoe hikes, call (509) 925-1943. Participants should call after 9 a.m. on the day of the hike for status updates. Cancellations may occur due to road closures or other winter access issues.

Families are invited to come enjoy a warm fire, hot beverages and snacks while creating your own bald eagle yarn puppet and learning about winter wildlife watching.

All craft supplies will be provided. Meet a the day-use kitchen shelter at 10 a.m.
