State Parks hosts public meeting about transfer of Lake Newport State Park property to Pend Orielle

OLYMPIA – Aug. 5, 2021 – The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17 to share information about the proposed transfer of the Lake Newport State Park property to Pend Oreille County. Participants may access the meeting through this link

Members of the public are invited to provide written questions, comments and suggestions during the meeting through the chat feature. Internet access is required to join the meeting and view the presentation.

Pend Orielle County has proposed including the property in the Pend Orielle River Water Trail Plan and the land would continue to be used for public recreation purposes. A report will be given to the State Parks and Recreation Commission during the commission meeting on Sept. 15 and 16 at Richland City Hall.

For additional information, or to request a special accommodation for the meeting, please contact Tanya Moore, Property & Acquisition Specialist.
