High levels of Nitrate MCL in park's drinking water

Higher than standard levels of Nitrate MCL have been identified in the water at Potholes. This does not pose an immediate threat to visitors. Adults (except pregnant women) and children older than 12 months may drink the tap water.

Customers staying at Potholes who would like park staff to provide water may contact staff during posted hours and receive up to 1.5 gallons per day. Due to some bottled water shortages, visitors are encouraged to bring their own water. State Parks will provide bottled water as resources are available.
