Bridges to undergo repairs
Beginning Spring 2019, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will begin a two-year project to repair, restore and repaint the Deception Pass Bridge and Canoe Pass Bridge. The project will repair corroded areas and preserve the integrity of these iconic Washington bridges.
Visitors at Deception Pass State Park should expect increased traffic and limited parking along State Route 20 on either side of the bridges. One sidewalk will also be unavailable. Visitors will still be able to access the bridges by foot from the North Beach day-use parking lot, though visitors are highly encouraged to explore other locations in the park or views of the bridges during construction. Please be warned, construction noise may cause some disturbances to both day-use and overnight visitors.
