Commission meetings & agendas

**We adjourned the Thursday, July 30 virtual Commission Meeting at 3:23 p.m. due to technical difficulties. The commission will reconvene at a date to be determined to address action items not completed (E-7 and E-8). An announcement will be made as soon as a date and time have been decided. We apologize for the inconvenience**

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is a board of seven citizen volunteers appointed by the governor. The commission has regular meetings six times a year at pre-determined locations around the state. Regular meetings run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include an opportunity for public comment. The commission chair may call special meetings at any time; all special meetings are announced in advance.

The commission meets in a work session from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the day prior to the regular meeting in the same location or at a location near the regular meeting location. Work sessions are educational sessions on park operations and issues that eventually may go before the commission. The commission may also tour area sites or parks the day following the regular meeting. No public comment and no formal action are taken at work sessions and tours.

Agendas, Items & Actions

Agendas are posted online at least one week in advance of meetings, and actions are posted within a week after the meeting.

    UPDATE July 21, 2020

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has decided to change its regularly scheduled meetings on July 29 and 30 at the Skamania Lodge, to a one-day online commission meeting and work session.
This meeting begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and runs until about 5 p.m. on July 30.
The meeting will be strictly accessible to the public via Webinar. Please clink one of the links below to join the meeting.

JOIN the meeting via Microsoft Teams.

Due to COVID-19 and the need to provide social distancing, our July Commission meeting will be conducted online. The meeting date has also been adjusted to fall into Phase 3 of the Governor’s reopening plan.

The Navy training proposal will not be included in the July Commission meeting. This item has high public interest we anticipate a large number of people will attend in person when this topic is before the commission. With public safety in mind, the commission plans to hold a public meeting on this topic later in the year when it is safer to accommodate large groups of people. We expect to make a decision on the Navy’s application at a regularly scheduled meeting in late 2020 or early 2021.
