Plans call for the Annex to be mostly gutted of interior walls and finishes, plumbing fixtures, electrical and mechanical systems, and re-constructed as an Environmental Education and Research Center and a separate Park Office space. Windows, doors, and perhaps skylights will be added at exterior walls and roof to allow daylight into the facility. The center will contain an approximately 800 SF classroom serving students and adults of all ages, from Pre-K to college to adult learners. In addition, the learning center will use the 326 acres of Saint Edward State Park as a living laboratory and outdoor classroom.
