Join us for a slow-paced, family-friendly, one-hour, 0.9-mile guided hike along the North Beach trail. Beginning at the amphitheater, we will walk through a beautiful old-growth forest and explore local wildlife, plants, geology and history as we make stops along the way.
This is a one-way hike that ends at the North Beach parking lot. Feel free to join us as we walk back to the amphitheater along the beach, take the same trail back or even explore the bridge. We hope to see you there!

Stop by our Discovery Center at Rosario beach anytime from noon to 4 p.m. to check out the displays or talk with our expert volunteers from the Deception Pass Park Foundation. Located in a historic Civilian Conservation Corps bathhouse, the center is jam-packed with animal pelts, microscopes, tide pool critters and a coloring table. A visit here should be on your must-do list while in the park.

Led by Artistic Director John Clayton, Jazz Port Townsend is the summer jazz camp designed to take you to the next level of musicianship. There’s a lot to learn at Jazz Port Townsend in 2017. These interpretive talks will immerse visitors in the history of Mt. St. Helens. Participants will travel through time to learn about the devastating 1980 eruption, the ever-changing landscape and story of recovery, the incredible return of wildlife and the important job volcanologists perform every day monitoring the Cascade Mountain range of volcanoes. Programs last 15 to 20 minutes and take place outside at the amphitheater.

These family-friendly evening programs are geared towards children of all ages and last approximately one hour. They provide the perfect blend of learning and entertainment for families camping at Seaquest or at the end of a long day trip. Park staff will give lessons on the local and regional wildlife, geology and ecosystems. Fun interactive crafts and activities are also scheduled.
