Enjoy a festival, join a fun run, tour an interpretive site, or just make your own celebration with a family picnic or camping trip. Choose from dozens of activities and events throughout the year. You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands. Deception Pass State Park

  1. Guided hike

    Join us for a slow-paced, family-friendly, one-hour, 0.9-mile guided hike along the North Beach trail. Beginning at the amphitheater, we will walk through a beautiful old-growth forest and explore local wildlife, plants, geology and history as we make stops along the way.

    This is a one-way hike that ends at the North Beach parking lot. Feel free to join us as we walk back to the amphitheater along the beach, take the same trail back or even explore the bridge. We hope to see you there!

  2. Discovery Center

    Stop by our Discovery Center at Rosario beach anytime from noon to 4 p.m. to check out the displays or talk with our expert volunteers from the Deception Pass Park Foundation. Located in a historic Civilian Conservation Corps bathhouse, the center is jam-packed with animal pelts, microscopes, tide pool critters and a coloring table. A visit here should be on your must-do list while in the park. The Discovery Center is sponsored by the Deception Pass Park Foundation.

  3. Junior Ranger program

    Join us at the amphitheater for our family-friendly Junior Ranger programs. Beginning at 2 p.m., these programs offer kids of all ages a chance to learn about local trees, wildlife, ecosystems and more. Topics vary each week. Each program includes a short lesson, fun activity and a craft project. The best part is everyone walks away with their very own, very official Junior Ranger badge. We hope to see you there!
