  4. Painted Collagraphs with Erika Bass

    In this two-day workshop, you will learn how to create mixed-media paintings from a printed collagraph enhanced with water based paints. Using cardboard and heavy paper, you will design and make your own image plates. With oil-based inks, you will roll and print from those onto rag paper and then develop your images with gouache staining and/or acrylic paints. Through the process you can explore how to use different hand-printing and painting techniques to affect the value and texture of your pieces. At the end of the workshop, you'll take home your new mixed-media paintings.
