Come join us for two free evenings of dancing and lessons at the beautiful Cama Beach State Park Retreat Center hosted by Seattle's Premier 25-year-old ballroom dance team, USA Dance-Seattle Chapter – Team Dancers
Saturday evening will be a more elegant affair. Join us for foxtrot, swing, waltz, quick step, and some of the Friday evening dances. USA Dance-Seattle Chapter – Team Dancers will perform a few of their best team and solo routines. The evening begins with a beginning-intermediate foxtrot and swing lesson from 7:00 pm to 8 p.m., followed by general dancing and stunning dance performances 'til 10 p.m. Come dressed in elegant attire or come as you are.

This course will drill deep into the basics, beginning with a firm foundation in understanding wood as a material and incorporates introductory training in a wide range of techniques. You'll leave with a in depth experience of hand tools, practice applications of joinery methods, consider choices for wood selection and working with non-toxic materials, and understand practical planning for designing and executing woodworking projects. The curriculum focuses on imparting skills through a series of projects designed to build on one another in techniques and complexity.
This 12 week course is focused on developing the skills that will allow you to start to find your voice as a furniture designer / maker. Design will be the consistent thread through the numerous projects of this class. We will take a hybrid approach to furniture making by blending traditional hand tool techniques with pragmatic use of woodworking machines.

You will learn the fundamentals of realistic drawing. You will gain skills in realistic three-dimensional drawing with an emphasis on form, value, and texture using a variety of drawing techniques and materials. We will also cover basic composition, linear perspective, and observational drawing. The techniques you learn will provide you with a visual language to express your personal artistic vision.

You will begin by drawing small images from a photo or realistic image. Then you will use water based paint and oil pastels. You'll identify the main composition, working with big shapes, and a few details. You'll play with color, and loosen your grip on realism.

Colored inks offer a huge range of versatility for creating layers with your painting. You will learn how to create glow and shadow effects to add more depth and light to your painting. Mix colors beyond the basics to make both more naturalistic and vivid effects. Ink is a perfect medium between drawing and painting, it's a great way to explore and make the transition with confidence from drafting/drawing skills to painting. Inks can be used on their own or mix well with other water-based media to expand your range with watercolors. Beginners are welcome.

In this class, you will start by creating simple, colorful backgrounds in your journal. Then, we will break out the paint, gesso, pens, pencils, pictures, ephemera and start creating. You will earn how to layer different media and materials, and use color, texture and design to create a journal full of ideas.

The Lake Sammamish Half Marathon takes runners along the smooth trail that connects Marymoor Park in Redmond to Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. This interurban trail is very popular with runners; about 30% of the course will be on smooth gravel surface and 70% on pavement. There is also a half-marathon walk category with a generous 4 hour time limit. This flat run is perfect for a half-marathon personal best whether you’re running or walking!
The race is chip-timed, and each racer will receive a custom bib, a finisher medal, a long-sleeve microfiber Tech Shirt and sponsor products. Aid stations are provided every few miles and the finish line will be by the beach and includes a nice line up of food and music.
This event benefits Cascade Challenge, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing leadership and outdoor adventure opportunities to youth ages 14-20.
