This course will drill deep into the basics, beginning with a firm foundation in understanding wood as a material and incorporates introductory training in a wide range of techniques. You'll leave with a in depth experience of hand tools, practice applications of joinery methods, consider choices for wood selection and working with non-toxic materials, and understand practical planning for designing and executing woodworking projects. The curriculum focuses on imparting skills through a series of projects designed to build on one another in techniques and complexity.
This 12 week course is focused on developing the skills that will allow you to start to find your voice as a furniture designer / maker. Design will be the consistent thread through the numerous projects of this class. We will take a hybrid approach to furniture making by blending traditional hand tool techniques with pragmatic use of woodworking machines.

This class will explore elements and techniques of acrylic painting through a variety of exercises and projects. Students will learn composition, color theory, and use imagination to create a body of work over the duration of the class. All skill levels are welcome! Max is a very generous teacher, guiding the student to explore different elements and techniques. His classes sell out quickly so don't delay!

This class is for anyone wanting to learn the technique of painting with watercolors, or for those who have experience, but would like to hone their skills. Class direction will primarily focus on brush skills, and will lead into paper and paint fundamentals. Students will work with both dry and wet applications and will learn how to add color(s) without losing a picture by turning it to mud! Nothing tricky to it and you will be amazed by what you can do.

Learn to paint using acrylics in this 5 week course! Students will explore a range of acrylic painting techniques to create soft images inspired by nature, and also bold, bright, wild creations that acrylics are known for! Each assignment will guide students step-by-step through planning for a painting, preparing surfaces for paint, and finishing a completed painting.
January 10, 2018, 6:00 PM @ Pearrygin Lake State Park
Meet at the West Campground Trailhead at Pearrygin Lake State Park at 6pm for a 60-90 minute ride (all abilities welcome and encouraged!). We'll hang out around the bonfire at the trailhead after the ride to swap stories of the evening's ride. Bring yourself something to grill (propane grill provided) and a beverage to enjoy around the bonfire.
Remember a Non-Motorized Sno-Park Daily or Annual Pass is required for parking. Those can be purchased at Pearrygin Lake or several local businesses in the Winthrop area, including Methow Cycle and Sport and Pardner's Mini-Market.
