  1. Foundations of Woodworking

    This course will drill deep into the basics, beginning with a firm foundation in understanding wood as a material and incorporates introductory training in a wide range of techniques. You'll leave with a in depth experience of hand tools, practice applications of joinery methods, consider choices for wood selection and working with non-toxic materials, and understand practical planning for designing and executing woodworking projects. The curriculum focuses on imparting skills through a series of projects designed to build on one another in techniques and complexity.

  2. Furniture Making: Finding your Voice

    This 12 week course is focused on developing the skills that will allow you to start to find your voice as a furniture designer / maker. Design will be the consistent thread through the numerous projects of this class. We will take a hybrid approach to furniture making by blending traditional hand tool techniques with pragmatic use of woodworking machines.

  4. Introduction to Drawing with Nonie Gaines

    If you want to learn the fundamentals of realistic drawing (or if you just need a refresher course), this class is for you! You will gain skills in realistic three-dimensional drawing with an emphasis on form, value, and texture using a variety of drawing techniques and materials. The class will also cover basic composition, linear perspective, and observational drawing (drawing from life). The techniques you learn will provide you with a visual language to express your personal artistic vision.

  8. Papier-Mache for Grown-Ups with Meg Kaczyk

    In this class series, you will learn how to use the simple craft of paper mache to make useful and beautiful vessels. It’s playtime for grown ups. In this hands on experience, you will make your creations using common objects such as bowls, cups and plates as forms. Then you’ll successively layer the form with newspaper strips and simple flour-and-water paste to build a rustic, sturdy vessel. To finish the pieces, we’ll look at pattern design from nature, history and different cultures to inspire your painted surface decorations. You’ll use bright colors and shapes painted with water based liquid acrylic to make your vessels friendly and inviting. In this class, you will learn how to make the most of the beautiful flexibility of this art form. And they make wonderful gifts.

    Beginners are welcome and all materials are provided.
