You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands.   2. Kids' Obstacle Challenge

    Subaru Kids' Obstacle Challenge is the ultimate family adventure and the only obstacle course designed for kids ages 5 to 16 where both kids and parents get to run together! A competitive wave takes place in the morning and family fun waves throughout the day, The adventure course is 1.5 to 2 miles long with mud, water, and 13 to 15 fun and challenging obstacles. Register your child, and you (parents/legal guardians) participate for FREE! It’s like getting three for the price of one!

  5. Volunteer habitat restoration event

    August 19, 2018, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Lake Sammamish State Park

    In partnership with Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park, earlier this year more than 100 volunteers removed truckloads of invasive Himalayan blackberry from two acres of the park and planted 150 native trees and shrubs in its place. Now we’re calling on volunteers to care for these young native plants by adding mulch and pulling weeds. Please join us to help these native species thrive and maintain volunteers’ hard work to restore the forest! Snacks, parking vouchers and supplies will be provided.

    Standup Seattle was launched in 2017 and embraced by the Puget Sound community. More than just a paddling event, they are a movement. Since 2012 they have been uniting paddlers, fitness enthusiasts, yoga practitioners and the breast cancer community from California to Florida and Michigan to Washington in an effort to save lives!

State Park Free Days

  1. Discover Pass free day

    August 25, 2018, All Day

    To celebrate National Park Service's 102nd birthday, today is a State Parks "free day" when a Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park. Please note, free days apply only to day use (not overnight stays or rented facilities). A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington state departments of Natural Resources and Fish & Wildlife on these days.
