You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands. Washington State Parks in conjunction with the Goldendale Chamber of Commerce and the City of Goldendale will be hosting the Eclipse 2017 event. This includes an Eclipse Party on August 20, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the main streets of Goldendale. One of the featured speakers will be Troy Carpenter, Interpretive Specialist for the Goldendale Observatory. In addition, on August 21, 2017 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, you can take a shuttle bus from the local High School to the Goldendale Observatory (parking at the Observatory is limited) to observe the first total eclipse of the sun viewable in the United States in 99 years,. Due to the location of the eclipse visitors can expect 98% coverage of the sun when viewed from the Observatory or from the Goldendale Area.
