Western part of Squilchuck State Park CLOSED until spring
The western part of Squilchuck State Park is CLOSED until spring while contractors conduct a forest health thinning operation of Douglas-fir trees in a 46-acre section of the park. Thinning the dense stand of trees will help improve the health of the forest and reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires. Following the harvest operation, which is scheduled to take about a month, work will need to be done to repair the trail system affected by the thinning. For your safety ALL public access is prohibited, please stay clear of this area. Signs are posted clearly marking the closed area.
